    Excellent Cathodic Disbondment Resistance

The 3LPP (Three-Layer Polypropylene) coating system is a high-performance, multi-layer coating system designed for high-temperature applications. The three layers of the system include a fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) primer,  an adhesive copolymer layer and a strong polypropylene topcoat.  This system boasts all of the advantages of a 3LPE system, but only offers and even higher thermal resistance thana standard 3LPE coating system.

Detailed Description of 3LPP Coated Steel Pipe

The 3LPP coating system offers a pipeline protection solution based on 3LPE technology tailored for elevated temperature situations and claims the same construction scheme as 3LPE but with the outer layer being polypropylene (PP). PP is ideally suited for high temperature pipeline service because of its excellent mechanical properties and temperature resistance. With that, it is the camera in hot oil or steam pipelines and pipelines crossing high temperature areas (i.e. deserts or geothermal).

    ● Layer 1: Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) Primer: Provides corrosion prevention as well as superb adhesion to steel.

    ● Layer 2: Copolymer Adhesive: The adhesive used to bond the FBE primer to the PP topcoat.

    ● Layer 3: Polypropylene (PP) Top Coat: Corrosion resistant, high temperature resistance, high hardness, high abrasion resistance. Also provides protection against mechanical damage.

    Main Application Areas

Because of its heat resistance and strength, the 3LPP coating is used in the following primary areas:

    ● High Temperature Oil and Gas Pipelines: As a coating for crude oil and natural gas through the pipeline at elevated temperatures.

    ● Offshore Pipelines: With its mechanical properties, 3LPP has great application potential for deep-water and complicated marine pipeline projects.

    ● Chemical and Refinery Process Piping: For pipelines that transport high-temperature corrosive media.

    ● Geothermal Pipelines: For carriers that transport geothermal steam or hot water.

    ● Pipelines Passing through High-Temperature Zones: Such as desert, volcanic etc.

Advantages of 3LPP Coated Steel Pipe

    ● Fantastic High Temperature Resilience: Can run continuously at 110°C and above for extended periods.

    ● Greater Mechanical Strength: The PP outer layer is harder than PE, providing greater resistance to impact damage and abrasion.

    ● Excellent Chemical Resistance: Can cope with a greater range of chemical environments.

    ● Trusted Three-Layer Design: Retains the same great adhesion and anti-corrosive nature of the three-layer coating system.

    ● Fit for the Tough Stuff: Best suited for deep-water and offshore pipelines, high-temperature pipelines, and extreme service environments.
