China Pre-Galvanized Steel Pipe and Tubing Suppliers - Round, Square, Rectangular Factory Products

Pre-galvanized steel pipe is a versatile and durable product manufactured from hot-dip galvanized steel coils. This process involves slitting and roll-forming the galvanized coil to create tubes that feature a welded seam. The finished product boasts a uniform bright zinc coating on both the interior and exterior, while the welded seam is protected with a zinc spray coating, ensuring reliable performance in various applications. Pre-galvanized steel pipes offer an economical solution for use in less corrosive environments, As a trusted manufacturer and supplier in China, we adhere to international standards such as ASTM A53, BS 1387, and JIS G3444 to ensure the highest quality. Our pre-galvanized steel pipes are available in a range of sizes from DN15 to DN150 (1/2 to 6) and come with varying zinc coatings from 40 to 275 g/m², depending on your specific requirements. Whether you are looking for pipes for construction, water supply, or other industrial applications, our factory is ready to provide you with the ideal pre-galvanized steel pipe solutions that meet your needs

Detailed Description of Pre-Galvanized Steel Pipe

Pre-galvanized pipe, sometimes referred to as mill-galvanized or in-line galvanized pipe, utilizes a different method for zinc protection. Different from post-galvanizing (hot-dip galvanizing), pre-galvanizing uses a steel strip that has been galvanized when the strips are made into pipes in a continuous process.

The steel strip is galvanized and rolled into a tube using rollers. The edges of the tube are joined together with high-frequency induction welding. After welding is done, the exterior weld seam received a coating of zinc-rich invective spray to restore corrosion resistance.

This is very fast and makes very smooth and uniform pipe, making it visually pleasing for many different applications.

    ? Frequently Asked Questions
Q What is the difference between pre-galvanized and hot-dip galvanized steel pipe?
Pre-galvanized pipe is made from steel strips that are galvanized before being formed into a pipe through a continuous rolling and welding process. Hot-dip galvanizing (post-galvanizing), on the other hand, involves immersing the finished pipe into molten zinc. Pre-galvanized pipe typically has a smoother, more uniform surface finish, while hot-dip galvanized pipe generally offers a thicker zinc coating.
Q What zinc coating levels are available for pre-galvanized steel pipe?
Pre-galvanized steel pipe is typically available with zinc coating weights ranging from Z80 to Z275, which corresponds to 80–275 g/m². The appropriate coating level depends on the intended application and required level of corrosion resistance.
Q What standards does pre-galvanized steel pipe comply with?
Pre-galvanized steel pipe can be manufactured to comply with multiple international standards, including EN 10219, BS 4568, and JIS G3444 for the pipe itself, and ASTM A653 or EN 10346 for the base galvanized material. Common steel grades include Q195, Q235, S235, and DX51D.
Q What size range is available for pre-galvanized steel pipe?
Pre-galvanized steel pipe is available in outer diameters (OD) ranging from 21.3mm to 165mm (1/2" to 6"), with wall thicknesses from 0.8mm to 5.0mm. This wide range makes it suitable for a variety of structural and mechanical applications.
Q How is the weld seam protected on pre-galvanized steel pipe?
After the tube edges are joined using high-frequency induction welding, the exterior weld seam is treated with a zinc-rich spray coating. This process restores corrosion resistance to the weld area, ensuring consistent protection along the full length of the pipe.
Q What are the typical applications of pre-galvanized steel pipe?
Thanks to its smooth, bright, and uniform surface finish, pre-galvanized steel pipe is widely used in applications where aesthetics and moderate corrosion resistance are important. Common uses include scaffolding, greenhouse frames, furniture structures, fencing, cable management, and general construction applications.
