China Suppliers Factory API 5CT J55/K55 BTC Seamless Steel Casing Pipe for Oil Wells

As a leading supplier of casing pipes in China, our high-strength API 5CT casing pipes are critical for ensuring the stability and integrity of wells. Designed to be installed within the wellbore, these pipes prevent borehole wall collapse and effectively isolate geological formations, minimizing fluid loss and cross-contamination. Our durable casing pipes are engineered to maintain long-term well integrity, even under extreme downhole conditions, making them the ideal choice for various drilling applications.

    Detailed Description of Casing Pipe

Casing, the primary structural support and stability for a wellbore, performs the following functions: 1) stabilizing the wellbore, 2) protecting unconfined water sands from contamination, 3) isolating undesirable water from producing formations, and 4) controlling and restricting well pressures during drilling, production, and workover operations. Casing is installed in sections, or "strings", each subsequently smaller in diameter and cemented securely in place. Casing strings include the Conductor, Surface, Intermediate, and Production Casing, with a unique purpose for each string to help the well become robust and safe. When designing the casing, careful consideration is given to casing grade, casing size, and casing weight. This is important in consideration of expected hole conditions, acting pressures, and depth of target. Our casing pipes are designed to yield both high collapse pressures, burst pressures, and tensile loads, sufficiently protecting the performance of the well.

Wellbore Stability Stabilizes the wellbore structure throughout operations.
Formation Isolation Protects water sands and isolates producing formations.
Pressure Control Controls well pressures during drilling, production & workover.
High Performance Engineered for high collapse, burst pressures & tensile loads.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Q1 What is the primary function of oil well casing pipe?
Casing pipe serves as the primary structural support for a wellbore. Its key functions include stabilizing the wellbore, protecting underground water sands from contamination, isolating undesirable water from producing formations, and controlling well pressures during drilling, production, and workover operations.
Q2 What are the different types of casing strings used in a well?
A typical well uses four main casing strings: Conductor Casing (the outermost string), Surface Casing (protects freshwater zones), Intermediate Casing (handles abnormal pressure zones), and Production Casing (the innermost string that allows hydrocarbons to flow to surface). Each string is cemented in place and has a progressively smaller diameter.
Q3 What grades of OCTG casing pipe are available?
Our OCTG casing pipes are available in a wide range of API grades including J55, K55, N80Q, L80-1, L80-9Cr, L80-13Cr, C90, T95, and P110. Each grade is selected based on the specific well conditions, depth, pressure requirements, and corrosive environments encountered.
Q4 What thread connection types are available for casing pipe?
We offer a full range of thread connections, including STC (Short Thread Coupling), LTC (Long Thread Coupling), and BTC (Buttress Thread Coupling) as per API standards. For demanding applications requiring gas-tight sealing, premium connections such as VAM and TenarisHydril are also available.
Q5 What quality inspections are performed on casing pipes?
All casing pipes undergo rigorous quality control procedures, including Hydrostatic Testing to verify pressure integrity, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MT), and Electromagnetic Inspection (EMI), as well as Dimensional Inspection and Thread Inspection to ensure compliance with API SPEC 5CT and ISO 11960 standards.
Q6 What standard lengths are available for OCTG casing pipe?
Casing pipes are supplied in three standard API range lengths: R1 (4.88–7.62 m), R2 (7.62–10.36 m), and R3 (10.36–14.63 m). The appropriate range is selected based on the well design, handling equipment, and operational requirements at the rig site.
