Hollow Sections

Hollow Sections

Category Description

Hollow Structural Sections (HSS) form the basis of modern construction and manufacturing, because of their remarkable strength to weight ratios, aesthetic flexibility and structural efficiency. The hollow sections range we carry includes Square Hollow Sections (SHS) and Rectangular Hollow Sections (RHS) produced to conform to International Standards.

Manufacturing and Material Excellence

Our hollow sections are usually made by the Electric Resistance Welding (ERW) process with high-quality carbon steel. This process provides a consistent and trustworthy weld seam which gives an equal mechanical property through out the tube. HSS have clean closed sections, which creates a higher level of torsional strength and compression than traditional open sections of steel like I-beams or channels in certain applications.

Key Advantages of Our Hollow Sections

● Structural Efficiency: The closed shape provides good resistance to twisting and buckling, supporting lighter and more elegant forms that do not compromise strength.

● Aesthetic Versatility: The smooth, clean lines which SHS and RHS have, are popular with architects specializing in exposed structural work to create a modern and minimalist aesthetic.

● Ease of Fabrication: HSS are generally very easy to cut, weld, drill and join. This makes the fabrication and construction process easier and can save time and labour costs.

● Corrosion Resistance: The sealed profile is less likely to corrode internally and has smooth surface for painting or galvanizing which is also easy to clean.

We provide a diverse selection of sizes, wall thicknesses, and steel grades to provide you with Square Hollow Sections that produce balanced symmetry for columns and frames, or Rectangular Hollow Sections that have directional strength for beams and joists.
