Detailed Description of Seamless Steel Pipe
Seamless steel tubes are produced without any welds, which gives them superior robustness and reliability in high-pressure and high-temperature applications. The typical production process consists of heating a solid cylindrical billet, which is then pierced to form a hollow shell in the center of the billet. The shell is then rolled (hot rolling) or drawn (cold drawing) to further extend its length and precisely control its dimensions (including diameter, wall thickness and length) to meet the final product requirements. Hot rolled seamless tubes offer significant cost benefits in many applications due to their high production efficiency, while cold drawn seamless tubes allow for more precise dimensional tolerances and better surface finishes.

Main Application Areas for Seamless Pipe
Seamless steel pipe's core technical advantages and key application areas
Seamless steel pipe is significantly better than welded pipe in key indicators such as internal pressure strength, high-temperature creep performance and fatigue life due to the material continuity advantage brought about by the weldless structure, which makes it the preferred material for the following severe working conditions:
1. Oil and gas industry (full industry chain coverage)
Exploration and development (OCTG Pipe):
▸ Casing: well wall support subjected to formation pressure
▸ Tubing: production fluid transportation in H₂S/CO₂ environments
▸ Drill Pipe: Fatigue-resistant structural components for high-torque drilling conditions
Line Pipe:
▸ High Pressure Onshore/Subsea Pipes (meets API 5L PSL2)
▸ Sulphide Stress Cracking (SSC) Resistant Pipe for Sour Service Environments
2. Energy & Power (Extreme Service Pressurized Parts)
Critical piping for thermal/nuclear power plants:
▸ Boiler tubes (ASTM A213): 600°C + supercritical steam environments
▸ Superheater/reheater tubes: resistance to high temperature oxidation and steam corrosion
▸ Main steam piping (ASTM A335 P91/ P92): 30 MPa class high pressure systems
Nuclear first circuit piping: integrity assurance in radiation environments
3. Process industry (corrosion-pressure-temperature coupled environments)
Petrochemical reaction piping:
▸ Chromium-molybdenum alloy steel tubing (e.g., ASTM A335 P5/P11) for hydrocrackers
▸ Duplex stainless steel tubing for transporting chlorinated media
Chemical specialty pipes:
▸ High-purity nickel-based alloy pipes (Inconel 625) for strong acid corrosion resistance
4. High-end equipment manufacturing (high-performance structural/functional parts)

Advantages of Seamless Steel Pipe
High Pressure Resistance: No weld seam means superior performance under high internal and external pressures.
Uniform Strength: Homogeneous structure throughout the pipe cross-section.
Excellent Corrosion Resistance: Smooth internal surface can reduce friction and improve flow.
Better Performance in Harsh Conditions: Suitable for high temperature, low temperature, and corrosive environments.
Precise Dimensions: Especially cold-drawn seamless pipes offer high dimensional accuracy.
Wide Range of Applications: From general fluid transport to critical oil & gas and power generation uses.
