Detailed Description of SSAW Pipe
Spiral Seam Submerged Arc Welded Steel Pipe (SSAW/HSAW) is manufactured through a unique spiral forming process, in which the hot rolled steel strip is first flattened and then spirally coiled at a forming angle of 15-60°, and then internally and externally welded using a double wire submerged arc welding process. This process is capable of producing a 2.5 meter diameter pipe from a 1.2 meter wide steel strip, with a material utilization rate 15-20% higher than that of a straight seam welded pipe, and the spiral weld allows for a more uniform stress distribution. Its excellent cost performance makes it widely used in engineering fields such as oil and gas transportation, submarine pipelines and urban pipeline corridors, especially suitable for long-distance pipeline construction and low-temperature environment.

Advantages of SSAW Steel Pipe
Ultra-large Diameter: 1.2m steel strip can produce 3m diameter pipe, material utilization rate is increased by 15-20%, saving cost.
Stress optimization: 50-70° angle design of spiral weld, stress concentration is 30% lower than straight seam pipe, suitable for high pressure transmission.
Economical and efficient: 40% fewer welded joints in a standard 12-18 meter pipe section, increasing efficiency and reducing the risk of leakage.
Wide range of applications: 0.5-4.0MPa pressure range, X42-X80 steel grade optional, adaptable to -60℃ extreme cold and marine environment.
Quality Assurance: Comply with API 5L/ISO 3183 standard, adopt ultrasonic and X-ray double testing to ensure the quality of welded joints.
