Detailed Description of Fire Sprinkler Steel Pipe

Fire sprinkler steel pipes are intended for automatic fire sprinkler systems. The primary purpose of these pipes is to automatically activate in the initial stages of a fire, discharging water uniformly across the given protected location to either contain or extinguish the fire. Our fire sprinkler pipes are mainly manufactured of quality carbon steel (Q235B) as the base metal, and manufactured by the (electric resistance welded) ERW process to production uniformity in the weld and high pressure resistance.

Corrosion protection of steel pipes is crucial in fire suppression systems because they usually have stagnant lines filled with water. We offer two main types of external surface treatment: red epoxy coating and hot dipped galvanizing. Firstly, the red epoxy coating offers good corrosion resistance and easy identification within complex systems. Secondly, the hot dipped galvanizing creates a layer of zinc-iron alloy on both the outside and inside of the pipe to combat corrosion, offering robust and long term protection against corrosion and is a good option for dry pipe and pre-action systems, (especially in corrosive environments).

    Frequently Asked Questions

Q What manufacturing process is used for fire sprinkler steel pipes?
Our fire sprinkler steel pipes are manufactured using the Electric Resistance Welded (ERW) process. This method ensures consistent weld quality, dimensional accuracy, and high pressure resistance — all critical requirements for reliable fire suppression systems.
Q What is the difference between red epoxy coated and hot-dip galvanized fire sprinkler pipes?
Red epoxy coating provides corrosion resistance and easy visual identification in complex piping systems. Hot-dip galvanizing applies a zinc-iron alloy layer to both the internal and external surfaces, offering more robust and long-lasting corrosion protection. Galvanized pipes are especially recommended for dry pipe systems, pre-action systems, and corrosive environments.
Q What standards do your fire sprinkler steel pipes comply with?
Our fire sprinkler pipes comply with multiple internationally recognized standards, including ASTM A795, ASTM A53, ASTM A135, UL 852, FM 1630, and GB/T 3091. They are also UL Listed, FM Approved, and CE Certified to meet the requirements of various global markets.
Q What size range is available for fire sprinkler steel pipes?
We supply fire sprinkler steel pipes in a wide size range from DN15 to DN300 (equivalent to 1/2" to 12" NPS), with wall thickness options of Schedule 10 and Schedule 40, or as specified by applicable standards. Custom sizes can also be arranged upon request.
Q What connection types are available for fire sprinkler pipes?
Our fire sprinkler steel pipes support three main connection methods: grooved (for quick mechanical coupling), threaded (for traditional screwed fittings), and welded (for permanent high-strength joints). The choice depends on system design, pressure requirements, and installation preferences.
Q Can the pipe length be customized?
Yes. Standard pipe lengths are 5.8m, 6m, 11.8m, and 12m, which cover the most common project requirements. However, we also offer customizable lengths to accommodate specific project layouts and minimize on-site cutting waste.
